Our retreat programs enable families who are experiencing serious illness or crisis to regain strength, mend spirits and just be families and kids again.
ABOUT DELIVER THE DREAM
Deliver the Dream helps families suffering from a serious illness or crisis. We organize monthly three-day retreats for families. Our program invites up to 15 families, free of charge, to one of our retreat locations. Each family that attends has a member - whether it’s a child or parent – living with an illness such as Cancer, Autism, HIV/AIDS or Cerebral Palsy. Our retreats allow families to relax, enjoy time together, forge new friendships and create support groups with the other families suffering from the same disease. When one person in a family is sick, the entire family is impacted and there are very few organizations nationwide that focus on the whole family unit like Deliver the Dream.
November 11-13 RETREAT
"Families who have a parent with Multiple Sclerosis"
What a great way to end the year. Our last retreat for 2011 was for families who have a parent with multiple sclerosis. We had a great time despite the freezing cold weather. We managed to stay warm by roasting marshmallows and singing songs by the campfire. Tractor rides were also a must so we piled on the blankets to stay warm while star gazing at the night’s perfectly clear sky. “We really needed this wonderful experience. Our family has grown closer and now has other means of support from other families” says Barbara the caregiver of a person with MS. Overall the retreat was a success and brought families who are facing the same struggles in life together. We hope that they continue to stay in touch and enjoy the memories.
