History

A not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization, Deliver the Dream was founded by Pat Moran, past chairman of JM Family Enterprises, Inc. and one of South Florida's top business women. After many years of seeing families struggle to stay together as they coped with crisis, Pat dreamed of a program that would allow families facing illness or crisis to alleviate stress, enhance coping skills and enjoy being together again as a family.

In 2002, her realization came true when Deliver the Dream held it's first retreat for families who have a parent with cancer. Since then, Deliver the Dream has brought hope and healing to nearly 4,500 family members across Florida, Georgia and North Carolina.

Deliver the Dream is a 501 (c)(3) founded by former JM Family CEO Pat Moran. Since 2002, the organization has hosted retreats for more than 3,700 family members facing such challenges as Cancer, Multiple Sclerosis, HIV, Down Syndrome and Autism.

The four-day, three-night retreats are held monthly throughout Florida, North Carolina and Georgia. Up to 15 families living with the same illness or crisis are invited to attend each retreat free of charge, where they regain strength, mend spirits, relax and share their stories.

Retreat participants are referred to Deliver the Dream by a network of healthcare partners, including the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, Chris Evert Children’s Hospital, the American Cancer Society, Baptist Health and Marcus Autism Center. More than 300 volunteers help make the retreats possible. Deliver the Dream helps families heal…one retreat at a time.
